Mark Ferrell, DVM
Dr. Mark Ferrell originally hails from Hobart, Oklahoma, having been born there and graduating from Hobart High School. While in Hobart, Dr. Ferrell participated in athletics, band, and in 4-H showing horses. After graduation, he enrolled at Oklahoma State University and earned his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science, a Masters Degree in Animal Science with emphasis in nutrition, and his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, Dr. Ferrell spent a year in Cushing, Oklahoma working in a mixed practice.
After that year, he moved to McAlester where he has been since 1989. Dr. Ferrell started Town & Country Veterinary Clinic in 1998. Dr. Ferrell is licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Oklahoma and Colorado. Dr. Ferrell is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) where he served as a district director, legislative committee chairman, vice-president and as OVMA president in 2012. Dr. Ferrell also served OVMA as a managing board representative to Southwest Veterinary Symposium (SWVS) and was president of SWVS in 2017.
Dr. Ferrell has been married to his wife Brenda since 1998 and has a son Matthew who is currently enrolled in medical school and a daughter Katelyn who an undergraduate at Oklahoma State University When not working, Dr. Ferrell enjoys working around the farm, riding his Harley, attending OSU football games, boating, and 4-wheeling with his wife and children. At the present time, Dr. Ferrell and his clan have a Yorkie, a Miniature Australian Shepherd, 6 cats, 5 cows, 1 bull, and 2 horses.
